The first issue of the Grassroots Alternatives paper has just been sent to the printer and will be back with us and getting distributed across various locations and events in the Avon region during the coming months. As we can’t afford a large print run, we’re making the paper available as a downloadable PDF from here.

Regular followers of this blog will be aware that two of us involved in this project have relocated to near Bristol with the others remaining in Essex. This means that Grassroots Alternatives is now operating in two different locations. Apart from the masthead and the project listings on the back page, the Grassroots Alternatives paper is the same as the Alternative Estuary paper which is currently being distributed across the south of Essex.

We’ve got a few ideas as to how we want to distribute the Grassroots Alternatives paper. One opportunity will be the Community Eco Festival which will be held in Keynsham on Saturday October 15th. Needless to say, we’re looking out for similar events where we can hand out copies of the paper.

What we’re also seeking are people involved in running community focused cafes, bookshops, refill shops and the like who would be interested in taking a bundle of papers for their patrons. If you think your patrons would be interested, please take a look at the link to the paper above. If you like what you see, get in touch via this e-mail – atthegrassroots@protonmail.com – and we’ll work out a way of getting the papers to you.
